Secure Browser

If you want to be able to control what websites your child can access, then you need the Secure Browser application developed by Tropical Software. With this application, by setting up a list of keywords and full URLs, you can block access to certain websites. In this way, you can ensure your child does not access websites that are inappropriate for his age.

You can easily install Secure Browser on a PC powered by Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7. To do so, you need only download a 690KB executable and run it. A setup wizard will appear on the screen when you run the executable and it will get Secure Browser up and running for you.

Secure Browser is a web browser – and as such it has a typical browser interface. At the top you will find buttons for surfing the web (address bar, home button, refresh, and so on) while underneath, in the main page, it displays the website you specified. By default, the application uses a “Welcome to Secure Browser” page as its start page.

The easiest way to get started with the functionality Secure Browser has to offer is to use the “Make Internet Secure” function that will apply a bunch of settings to restrict internet access from your computer. Alternatively, you can choose which Administration Settings you want to enable and you can set up a list of allowed websites. This list can include full URLs or just keywords. The aforementioned Admin Settings include options such as Disable Menu Bar, Hide Address Bar, and Make All Internet Browsers Use List.

You can use Secure Browser for free for an evaluation period of 30 days.
